Stranded Loose Tube Non-metallic Strength Member Armored Cable （GYFTA53）
The fibers, 250µm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) locates in the center of core as a non-metallic strength member. A FRP, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable with high fiber count. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular core. The gap in the cable core is filled with water blocking filler. An Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) is applied around the cable core, which is extruded with a layer of polyethylene inner sheath, and the double-sided plastic coated belt (PSP) is longitudinally coated and extruded with polyethylene outer sheath to form the cable.
